With an external BD USB 2 burner/player what are my options to rip and play blurays on my Mac Pro 2013 model? Software wise.

Sorry, discussing 'ripping' of copy-protected commercial DVDs is not allowed here.
I never asked to do anything illegal, so please don't assume it. I purchased a 3rd party Samsung external BD recorder, How do I get it to work? When I say rip I mean copy data from my HD to another storage source. I want to know how to use this drive to its maximal potential with my new Mac Pro, the external SuperDrive I purchased does not allow me to back up 25 + gigs of data to a recordable format. my iTunes library is too valuable to risk to a hard drive crash.
Roxio Toast will copy data to blu-ray and will burn video blu-rays. Mac Blu-Ray Player will let you play commercial Blu-Ray discs and DVDs on the Mac Pro.
